I.B.L. RADIO TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the Radio Teacher Training Program? Is it for me?

L  Yes, it is for YOU!

Who can enroll in the Program?

Anyone who will commit to do the work can participate in the Radio Teacher Training Program. You must have access to the internet to hear the radio programs as assigned and to print off the worksheets each week.

How do I register for the classes?

First, you must register for the training by the deadline set for each course. You can register by getting the Registration Form off the internet and attaching it to an email to: sharon.samson@iblessonsinc.org  You can also send your registration form in the mail to: International Bible Lessons, 48711 Van Dyke, Suite 102, Shelby Township, MI 48317. You can also register by phone by calling us at 586-744-9119. Be sure you have all the information before you call.

To register for yourself: Find the Registration Form (for individuals) on the website at www.bible4children.org OR www.iblessonsinc.org . Print the form and fill in the required information. You can scan it and email it to me or mail it to the above address.

To register a church group:  Find the Registration form on the website for church groups. Be sure you have a Church Coordinator who will be responsible for the correspondence and grading the worksheets. List the names of each student who will be part of the training. Send the completed form to International Bible Lessons by the deadline for the specific course. You will then receive the information you need to be the Church Coordinator.

How do I turn in my worksheets?

Individual registrants – Send your weekly worksheet to International Bible Lessons, 48711 VanDkye, Suite 102, Shelby Township, MI 48317 or Email them to sharon.samson@iblessonsinc.org. Please send them each week.

Church Groups – Each class member will turn in the appropriate worksheet each week to the Church Coordinator who will grade the papers and keep the records. Every 4 weeks the Coordinator will send the completed and graded worksheets to International Bible Lessons at the above address to receive credit for the work. An ‘Answer Sheet’ will be send to the Church Coordinator upon church registration for the specific course. Students MUST TURN IN WORKSHEETS WEEKLY.

How will I benefit from the Courses?

You will receive some quality training on a variety of topics (12-13 topics per course). You will be able to participate in an easy-to-do program – just listening to a 15 minute program on our website each week. Doing the corresponding worksheet each week will greatly enhance your learning. You will receive a “Certificate of Accomplishment” from IBL at successful completion of each course. Your church will also benefit by having better trained teachers and workers. I think you will get excited about teaching as you learn each week.

Why is IBL providing this program?

We have sensed a need for an easy program of teacher/worker training where workers in the church can get some quality instruction on a variety of ministry and teaching subjects in a user-friendly manner. This training seems to be a missing ingredient in many areas and we at IBL would like to help you to become better and more qualified teachers and church servants. We are doing it as a service to you – so why not take advantage of this unique opportunity.

What if I am not really good on the computer?

Well, you are not alone.  We are allowing you some options so everyone should be able to participate in the courses. If you are computer savvy, you can do all your work on the computer. If you are not so clever on the computer, you can print off the worksheets and mail them to us. If you do not have access to the internet on your computer, you will need to find someone who does and who will be willing to let you listen to a 15 minute program for that week and print off the worksheet for you. (Then follow the above instructions.)

Can a group work together to get the training?

Yes, that would be good, particularly if a church group is registered for the class. Individuals could form their own group also.. The small group would listen to the program together – then do the worksheets individually and turn them in for grading. (You might want to listen to the program again after you have done the worksheet and adjust your answers.)  To be most effective this group should meet every week of the course and do one lesson at a time.

Is there a charge for the training?

No, IBL will not charge for these courses. They are offered as a service to you. Of course, we would always accept your donations to the ministry of IBL – especially if we have to mail things back to you.  We are a non-profit ministry organization funded by donations.

What do I get when I register?

You will receive all the information you need to successfully complete the course you register for.  You will receive the schedule of Programs and when to listen to them – one program per week. On your schedule you will see the week number of the course, the dates for listening and worksheet completion, the specific program to listen to each week, and the title of that program.  The completed worksheet is due the same week as the program is scheduled. At the end of each course, you will see the DEADLINE FOR ALL PAPERS TO BE TURNED IN.  You must follow this schedule accurately to successfully complete the course.  Our website address is: www.bible4children.org and  you will find the programs by clicking on the ‘Radio’ button on the home page Navigation bar.  Find the Program # you need for the week and you will be able to listen to that program. You can listen to it as many times as you want to. On the same page you will find the Worksheets for each program. You will also receive information on who to turn your worksheets in to each week.

What credentials do you have to teach these courses?

I have been involved in full time ministry to the local church and in missions in the area of Christian Education since graduation from Bible College. I have developed and taught the Christian Education courses at The Evangelical Theological College in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I have a Diploma in Bible and Christian Education, a Master’s Degree in Educational Ministries, and a PhD in international education. I have a life time of ministry and teaching ministry which I am glad to share with you.

What are the requirements for each course? (tentatively 3 courses available)

1.    Listen to the assigned Program on our website each week. Listen at least once before and one after doing the required worksheet.

2.    Print off the worksheet. Fill in the answers after listening to the program. (Be sure the Radio Program Number and the Worksheet Number are the same.) In most cases the choice of answers are given on the worksheet, so they are not too difficult to complete.

3.    Send your completed worksheet each week to your Church Coordinator or to me the same week you are scheduled for that program topic. Note that the Program Numbers are not usually consecutive.

4.    Follow the prescribed schedule throughout the 12-13 week course.

5.    Your worksheets will be returned for your resource file at the end of the course.

6.    You must complete ALL the lessons and turn them in on time to successfully complete the course.

7.    When all requirements have been successfully completed for the course, a “Certificate of Accomplishment” will be sent to you from IBL.  A record of your achievement will be kept at IBL.

8.    Feel free to email me with further questions: sharon.samson@iblessonsinc.org
